D.P. Murphy Inc. was founded by Danny Murphy in 1980 with the opening of two Tim Hortons restaurants on Prince Edward Island. Since then, the company has grown to include five premier brand names throughout Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec: Tim Hortons, Wendy's, Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, Hampton Inns by Hilton and Super 8 Motels.
