DP Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame

Over the course of the past quarter of a century, our company has grown and evolved in many ways. Not only have we grown in size, but also in the development of our people. We are dedicated and committed to quality, and we have a drive for excellence and betterment in all that we do. We care for each other, our team members, our customers, and our communities. We also have an unwavering resolve to do the right thing.

We are proud of these behaviors and values as they are the contributions and gifts of some of the many people who have been associated with our organization over the years. The D.P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame was created to recognize and honor some of these extraordinary people.

A single individual will be selected every year by the Hall of Fame selection committee from a list of eligible nominees. Individuals eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame include: any current team member of D.P. Murphy Inc. (both management and non-management), past team members of D.P. Murphy Inc.,as well as our business and support colleagues from among our franchisors and other business associates.

The selection criteria will be to identify that special individual whose efforts, examples and leadership have significantly contributed to help shape our company's culture, our values, and our proud heritage.


  • 2004 Malcolm Swann

    It is with great pleasure that we congratulate and thank Malcolm Swann as our inaugural inductee to our Hall of Fame.

    Malcolm was with D.P. Murphy Inc. for 14 years, and has played an extraordinary role in the growth and development of our organization. After much dedication and commitment, Malcolm is moving on to run three Tim Hortons locations in Halifax. We all wish him the Best of Luck and much success in his new role as a Tim Hortons franchisee.

  • 2005 Jack Thomsen

    It is with great excitement that we announce our third inductee, Jack Thomsen, into the D.P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame.

    Jack has been with the company for over 23 years and has worked as a baker at various Tim Hortons locations. He currently works at our St. Peter's Rd. location.

    Jack has, over the course of nearly the past quarter of a century, demonstrated an above average dedication on the high quality standards of our products. Many other bakers have benefited from Jack's training over the years. Jack was instrumental in making the P.E.I. Tim Hortons stores the envy of the country in terms of quality and consistency of our products. Jack was also instrumental in the very successful operation of the Central Commissary and has been a leader in our change to "Always Fresh Program" at the store level. Congratulations Jack on a well deserved honor!

  • 2005 Edith Clow

    Edith Clow was named the second inductee in the The D.P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame. Edith was a long time team member, providing 12 years of service in our Tim Hortons Division.

    Edith played a pivotal role in the growth of Tim Hortons on Charlottetown. She took personal pride in delivering Guest Courtesy everyday and ensured a clean restaurant for everyone who came in. Edith also trained many counter attendants over the years, passing on her high standards and inspiring many to share in her vision for the same.

    Edith retired 12 years ago and is currently enjoying her retirement by making quilts and having flea markets at her home in Dunstaffnage.

    All of us at D.P. Murphy Inc. extend our congratulations to Edith. The honor is well deserved.

  • 2006 Laurie Dove

    On December 13, 2006, Laurie Dove was named as the forth inductee into the "D. P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame". Laurie is a long time team member of D. P. Murphy Inc. She started her career as a Tim Horton's baker and subsequently moved into and started the centralized system for our growing company. Laurie has, over her 23 years, seen the company grow from a small company of three Tim Horton locations on P.E.I., to over almost 30 restaurants and 03 hotels across 4 provinces and 4 brands. Laurie plays an extraordinary role in supporting this growth with reliable and timely financial information and analysis to help us make the right business decisions at the right time. Laurie is also our resident IT expert and was instrumental in developing our in-house Intranet Program. More than all of that, Laurie is always very welcoming and accommodating to the locations at all times lending her support and doing "whatever it takes" to get the job done. She exhibits Guest Courtesy at all times.

    Being inducted into the "Hall of Fame" is the highest honor we can bestow upon an individual from our company. They stand out as instrumental in shaping our company culture and are truly extraordinary individuals. Laurie Dove is a very deserving individual and it is an honor to present her with this award. Congratulations Laurie!

  • 2007 Bruce Burley

    It is with great honor that I announce to you that Bruce Burley was inducted into the D. P. Murphy Inc. "Hall of Fame" on Sept. 17th.

    The D. P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame was created to forever honor those individuals whose examples, actions and leadership help to shape our company's proud heritage and history.

    As many of you know, Bruce is an obvious choice for this induction. His guidance, leadership and commitment to doing the right thing over the past 17 years, has certainly played an integral role in the growth and development of our company. Bruce has been instrumental in the personal career paths of many of the team at D. P. Murphy Inc. He has been unselfish with his time and patience and always took a keen interest in the personal development of all. Bruce always led by example and was, and still is, the first to jump behind the line and make a difference ?where the rubber meets the road?. One of Bruce's key quotes that he truly believes is that ?people can do anything?. The word ?we can't? was not contemplated as he strived every day for true excellence in all that we do. He takes enormous pride in our work, our products and our service. Bruce continues to play an integral role in our Wendy's Montreal Market.

  • 2009 Louis Murphy

    On Tuesday, February 24, 2009, Louis Murphy, Director of Operations for TDL Group Ltd., was inducted into the D. P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame.

    The D. P. Murphy Inc. Hall of Fame was created to forever honor those individuals whose examples, actions and leadership help to shape our company's proud heritage and history.

    Louis is the Director of Operations for TDL Group Limited and plays an integral part in the culture of Tim Hortons here on P.E.I. Louis began his career with D. P. Murphy Inc. in 1984 opening our Tim Hortons on Water Street. He operated that location for a couple of years and then moved to TDL Group Limited where he has worked for the past 26 years. It is great to see Louis is still involved with our operations and he is well deserving of this award.

  • 2011 Cheryl Costain

    It is with great pleasure that I congratulate a great employee and long time friend, Cheryl Costain with her induction into the D. P. Murphy Inc. "Hall of Fame".

    Cheryl is the perfect candidate for induction because she has, for a long period of time, helped build our business and reputation as the company that goes above and beyond in the Guest Courtesy department. Cheryl has been an excellent example of being a professional in our industry and I, as President of the company, want to thank her for 30 years of outstanding service that does not go unnoticed by me, our management teams and guests.   • 2014 Debbie Doucette & Janice Blacquiere

    It is with great honor that I announce our latest inductees, Debbie Doucette and Janice Blaquiere into the D. P. Murphy Inc. "Hall of Fame" in June, 2014.

    Debbie Doucette:

    Debbie's dedication and commitment to the company over the past 28 years has certainly played an integral role in the growth and development of our company. Debbie takes great pride in all her many roles but her instrumental contribution in the fundraising and operation of the Oak Acres Children's Foundation Inc. certainly is her shining star.

    Janice Blacquiere:

    Janice has been the face and voice of D. P. Murphy Inc. for the past 26 years. Janice's dedication and commitment to the company, her sparkling smile and personality has certainly palyed an integral role in the growth and development of our company. Janice is involved in organizing many company events such as Alzheimer's Fundraising Dinner, Tim Horton Food Drive, Smile Cookie Campaigns, Bowl for Kids sake....just to name a few, but for the past 23 years, Janice has become known for her involvement in the success of the Tim Horton's Easter Seals Ambassador's School Tour. Janice promoted each and every event with great pride and monumental success and always represents the company with great poise and integrity.
